You call on a deity or other divine power for aid in the form of a divine servitor of that power's choosing, of a level no greater than twice this ritual's rank. The secondary casters explain what help you need and why; if the task suits the deity especially well, the GM can grant a circumstance bonus to the secondary Diplomacy check or rule it an automatic critical success, and using the ritual without good reason is an automatic critical failure. If the ritual succeeds you must pay the servitor according to the task's duration and danger, always at least as much as a consumable item of its level and often as much as a permanent magic item of its level to get it to fight beside you, with offerings suited to the deity's tastes. You can instead name a being native to the deity's realm whom you know personally, under the same level limit, though such a creature may ask for something it wants for itself.
Degrees of success
- Critical Success
- The deity sends a servitor whose payment costs only half as much as normal. If you asked for a particular servitor by name, the deity is likely to send that one unless it is busy.
- Success
- Your deity sends a servitor.
- Failure
- Your deity does not send a servitor.
- Critical Failure
- The deity is offended and sends a sign of displeasure, or possibly a servitor to scold or attack you, depending on its nature. It might also strip divine power from the followers who took part until they atone.
