Outermost plane of the Inner Sphere, the Plane of Fire sits like a great gleaming ball of flame at the heart of the Astral Plane. It is a perpetual ocean of fire with skies of smoke, storms of raining cinders, and lakes and rivers of magma flowing along its border with the Plane of Earth, and it is dangerously hostile to anyone unprepared for it. Unprotected flammable material catches fire almost immediately, and extraplanar creatures take environmental fire damage at the end of each round.
For all that, it houses one of the best known and most travelled cities on any plane, floating above a sea of fire on a great hemisphere of magical brass. Outside its mercantile districts and genie palaces lies a vast oppressed underclass drawn from many planes. Genie rule is not absolute: elsewhere are nations of fire scamps and the remains of an older empire, while the plane's fire elementals answer to its single most powerful resident.
Planar traits
- Fire
- Composed of flames that burn continually with no fuel source, and extremely hostile to non-fire creatures. Unprotected flammable material catches fire almost immediately, and a creature in unprotected flammable clothing typically takes 1d6 persistent fire damage. Extraplanar creatures take moderate environmental fire damage at the end of each round, less in safer areas and more in fiercer ones. Ice creatures may simply melt.
