Among the most obscure planes of existence, the Dimension of Time is virtually impossible to reach by conventional planar travel. Travelers must instead perform complex and difficult rituals described in monstrously rare tomes, and each traveler's experience seems to be unique. Most who attempt the journey never return. Any magic that interacts with the dimension draws the attention of creatures native to it, and the proper flow and continuity of time appears to self-correct against meddling, often violently.
Those few who have gained entry and come back describe a swirling storm of blurred images, the composite of millions of interwoven timelines around their own, with a single doorway giving access to one's own past. Travelers appear as transparent images of themselves, and the dimension seems averse to any attempt to alter the past whatever the means or intention. Such attempts tend to end with the offender erased from existence, or trapped in a closed time loop to limit the damage. At the heart of the storm is said to lie a realm known only from tales of a great city, a vast green meadow, and the sound of an ocean emptying over an immense waterfall.
Planar traits
- Erratic
- Time slows and speeds up, so a traveler might lose or gain time crossing between planes. Moving from an erratic time plane to a normal one calls for a DC 11 flat check, shared by everyone who leaves together. On a success time passed normally; on a failure one day passed at home for each hour spent here; on a critical failure one day passed at home for each round spent here.
- Static
- Visitors cannot affect the plane's living residents or the objects they carry in any way. Spells that would affect them have no effect unless the static trait is removed or suppressed.
